Patrick Duggan is the Director of Rowing at Kings College School since 2012. Originally from Cork, Ireland he has been an accomplished member of Cork Boat Club since 1992 who he has represented as both a successful athlete and coach. While studying electronic engineering, Patrick represented Cork Institute of Technology’s senior squad winning numerous national varsity championship titles (BUCS equivalent). He has coached many athletes to international honours including coup de la Jeunesse, Junior and U23 world championship selection. Having competed as a successful senior lightweight athlete in Australia he directed his efforts to coaching upon his return to Ireland in 2003. Domestic successes have included unbeaten seasons as a coach while in Ireland and in 2008 he and his family moved to Putney when he was offered a full time coaching role at Latymer Upper School. Having coached numerous medal winning crews at school boy level he moved to Kings College School as Boatman and Senior Rowing Coach during 2010. In 2012 he was appointed Director of rowing and in that same year he successfully coached the senior 1st VIII that won the Child Beale cup (J18 1st 8s) at the national schools regatta and coached the GB junior pair to a double Bronze medal at the coup de la Jeunesse. At the 2013 National Schools Regatta, for the first time in the history of the Boat Club the 1st VIII competed at Championship level finishing an unprecedented 5th in the final of J18 championship 8s. In 2014 this feet was repeated and in 2015 the 1st VIII won a well earned silver in the J18 1st 8s at the National schools regatta.
