An old Kings boy, Jack started rowing in the fourth form and rowed at the school for 5 years until he graduated in 2012. He represented the school at multiple national competitions, winning a Gold Medal at the 2009 National School’s Regatta and the 2010 Schools Head of the River Race. Jack finished his school rowing as Captain of Boats in 2012, and was a member of the School 1st 8 that came 2nd in 1st 8s at the School’s Head and won Gold in the Child Beale Cup for 1st 8s at the National Schools’ Regatta. Jack also represented the school at prestigious events such as the GB U16 Trials, the Men’s Eight’s Head of the River Race and Henley Royal Regatta. After finishing school, Jack took a Gap Year to coach rowing at St Peter’s School in Cambridge, New Zealand. At the time St Peter’s was the holder of the Star Trophy for the Top School at the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Championships. Jack was involved in coaching a number of crews that achieved top ten placings and medals across a range of ages at the 2013 North Island Secondary Schools’ Championships and New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Championships.
